Telavi Old Cellar

Kakhetian winery, founded in 2011 by a talented winegrower and winemaker Archil Utiashvili, who independently perfected the entire wine production cycle. In this small winery, the process of creating wine - from the vineyard to the bottling - passes through the hands of one winemaker. Vineyards, on which vines of venerable 40-year-olds are grown, are located in the unique terroir of the Tsinandali microzone. The region's moderate climate allows the grapes to reach a perfect degree of maturity, giving wines power and density, and clay-carbonate soil gives them a fine structure and harmony of acidity and tannins.
The wines of Telavi Old Seler are made according to traditional Kakhetian technology. In the fermentation, which takes place in clay Kvevri, not only grape juice, but also combs, peel and bones of fruits participate. In some cases, the wine is not filtered before bottling. High-quality Telavi Old Cellar wines are produced in a very limited amount.
